Enabling and Disabling ACL Support
The Extended Security Panel
Before you can manipulate ACLs for items on a volume, you must enable extended security support for that volume. The extended security panel in Sandbox contains functions to enable ACLs on any locally mounted volume that supports it.
- From the Tools menu, choose Extended Security. The extended security panel will open and display a list of mounted volumes.
- Highlight the volume on which you wish to enable ACLs. Review the volume info to ensure you've selected the correct volume.
- Click Enable. Barring any error, ACLs will be enabled immediately.
- Click Done to close the extended security panel.
Similarly, you can disable ACLs from the extended security panel with the Disable button.
- You cannot make changes to read-only volumes.
- ACLs cannot be enabled on mounted iDisks.
